The World Public Charter School has just been chartered by DC authorities.
Charter schools are FREE to children residing in the District of Columbia.
The World School has been open since September 1998 with at least two elementary sections and one middle school program. Eventually extending from age three through the International Baccalaureate, it will teach each child at the primary or elementary level through English and Arabic, Chinese, Japanese or Russian, and will follow curricularly the original pattern of the Washington International School. There will also be classes taught through English and French, German, Italian or Spanish.
