The
(formerly the World Public Charter School)
has the honor to invite you to an
at its temporary site
If you know anything about us, you know that ours is a very big idea, if an obvious one for the twenty-first century. But the DC Board of Education, in its wisdom, has revoked our charter.
We believe our idea is too important for the children of the District of Columbia for us to give up. We are hoping, like the phoenix, to rise again as an independent school, but this of course will take some time. There will have to be tuition, for teachers cannot be paid on air. Our efforts will be helped by the new legislation pending in the Congress establishing a modest parental choice, or voucher, program for District children. We will also enroll children from the suburbs.
We shall be welcoming parents, teachers, board members, friends - past, present and future - for some brain-storming on the possibilities for Russian, Arabic, Japanese, French and Spanish sections as well as continuing with our Marco Polo program in Italian/English and Mandarin/English, all working of course toward the International Baccalaureate.
